Name:
emonTx V2
Description:
A low power wireless energy monitoring node designed to sense data from multiple CT current sensors, optically from a pulse-output utility meter and from multiple one-wire temperature sensors. It can be powered by 2 x AA batteries or 5V USB.
Technical
ATmega 328 with Arduino Uno bootloader
3 x CT sensor inputs
1 x 3.5mm jack DS18B20 input
1 x 3.5mm jack pulse-counter sensor input
1 x 9V AC-AC adapter input
On-board HopeRF RFM12B wireless transceiver module - 433 Mhz - worldwide ISM frequency band
3.3V board voltage
Power supply: 5V mini-USB / 2 x AA batteries
Note: Soldering assembly is required and an FTDI cable is required for programming
Kit Includes
emonTx PCB + all necessary components
Does not include
FTDI programming cable
Clip on CT current sensor, temperature, optical or AC-AC (voltage adapter) sensors
CT sensors give a much better reading of instantaneous power than pulse counting, we recommend using a CT whenever possible. When monitoring power using pulse counting method from a utility meter the sample rate is limited to the number of pulses, at low power values the pulse rate can be extremely slow.

Multimeter Probes - Tweezers
Description:
Testing surface-mount components with standard test leads is anything but easy. Everyone has their own method: some people tackle it with teamwork and have a friend (or grad student) hold the probes, some people have adapted a sort of chopsticks-like technique, but the best way by far is probably just to buy these handy tweezer probes! Tweezer probes connect to your existing instrumentation with shrouded banana connectors and allow you to easily test small parts with one hand. The large plastic tweezers are easy to grip and are marked for polarity.
Dimensions: Tweezers are 6" long with 10mm open clip distance. Wire lead is 16" from tweezers to jacks.

Linien Laser - 5mW 650nm Red
Description:
You have some frickin' sharks at your lair, and you're thinking "it would be really great if I could attach some lasers to them" and then you see these little laser diode modules: what great timing! These encapsulated laser diodes are Class IIIa 5mW, with a 650nm red wavelength. They can be driven from 2.8V to 5.2V so they're great for your embedded electronics project.
This particular laser diode has a lens attached to turn the dot into a line. We think this would be particularly good for making a 3D scanner, but there are probably many other cool uses! Simply connect power to the red and black wires and you will be lasing in no time.
The line beam spread is 120° - so from a distance of 5cm the line is 15cm long. The line fades out and doesn't have a sharp cut-off.
Please note: this is not a laser pointer. It's a diode with integrated driver. You still need a 3 to 5VDC power supply. These diodes are 5mW output, and have a safety label marked on them. For more information on laser safety and ratings check out the Wikipedia page

NeoPixel Ring - 12 LED
Description:
Round and round and round they go! 12 ultra bright smart LED NeoPixels are arranged in a circle with 1.5" (37mm) outer diameter. The rings are 'chainable' - connect the output pin of one to the input pin of another. Use only one microcontroller pin to control as many as you can chain together! Each LED is addressable as the driver chip is inside the LED. Each one has ~18mA constant current drive so the color will be very consistent even if the voltage varies, and no external choke resistors are required making the design slim. Power the whole thing with 5VDC and you're ready to rock.
There is a single data line with a very timing-specific protocol. Since the protocol is very sensitive to timing, it requires a real-time microconroller such as an AVR, Arduino, PIC, mbed, etc. It cannot be used with a Linux-based microcomputer or interpreted microcontroller such as the netduino or Basic Stamp. Our wonderfully-written Neopixel library for Arduino supports these pixels! As it requires hand-tuned assembly it is only for AVR cores but others may have ported this chip driver code so please google around. An 8MHz or faster processor is required.
Comes as a single ring with 12 individually addressable RGB LEDs assembled and tested.

Modular Plastic Storage Box - X-Large
Description:
Face it, if you keep this up your workbench is going to turn into a galaxy of small parts with no place for anything and nothing in its place. Okay, so maybe that just happens to some of us, but everyone could use a little organization and that's exactly what this product offers.
These modular storage boxes snap together so you can keep all of your parts separated and together all at once. As if that isn't cool enough, the transparent lids on these storage modules are also spring loaded so you can access parts one-handed while trying to hold a soldering iron/screwdriver/whatever. Simply pull the latch and the lid pops right open! It's hard to overstate how neat these little boxes really are.
These come in a variety of sizes and this is a pack of 4 medium storage cubes that can be individually snapped apart and reattached. Of course they're compatible with all other sizes of modular storage box so you can build custom panels of storage compartments. Take that, clutter!
Note: These boxes are not ESD-safe. If you have sensitive parts to store, you might want to keep them in their static bags!
